# Test and go live

Use Test mode to verify attribution without affecting live metrics or payouts.

## Test the full flow

Open Setup and switch to **Test**.

1. Connect Stripe test mode if the App uses Stripe.
2. Use the displayed `rk_test_app_*` key.
3. Enter a local or staging Test website URL if needed.
4. Create the internal Test affiliate link.
5. Open that link and create a new Customer account.
6. Complete a test payment.

The checklist confirms:

* Test affiliate link opened.
* Test signup matched.
* Test payment received.
* Test commission created.

A zero-value Stripe trial can confirm payment receipt, but a positive attributed amount is required to create a commission.

## Configure Live

Switch Setup to **Live** and confirm:

* The production website uses public HTTPS.
* A live `rk_app_*` API key exists and is stored only on the server.
* Stripe live mode is connected when Stripe is the revenue source.
* The production deployment contains the same capture and identify integration you tested.

Live API key values are shown once. Save them in the production secret store.

## Check status

The dashboard is the primary status view. The optional CLI command is:

```bash
npx refkitnet status --app-id app_...
```

Test activity remains isolated and is never included in payouts.
